While preparing the voyage plans, the horizon has been studied for waves the vessel will encounter, the winds it will experience and the loads the cargo will feel. All of this has one aim in mind. To make sure the transport is executed so smoothly that their work goes unnoticed. Engineering Overview To successfully transport and install the world’s most inconceivable cargoes, Dockwise employs highly trained people whose individual motivation is first rate and who want to do an excellent job for clients. Those people are working on several Engineering Departments. Position： Principal Marine Engineer (Office: Shanghai) Mission: The Principal Marine Engineer assists in and advises during the preparation of a transport and performs studies for the preparation of a Transport and Installation (T&I) project. He, or she, provides “up-to-date” engineering solutions and support to Transport and Project Engineering and initiate in the development and improvement of marine engineering methods, tools and equipment. He or she functions as mentor to guide and develop our Marine Engineers on competence and technical side. Responsibilities: Contribute actively in the quality control within the Marine Engineering Department at Shanghai office Answer complex enquiries needed for a successful acquisition process or project Provide engineering advice and support to other disciplines as well as external parties, using industry standard and in-house developed hydrodynamics software Doing research, sharing this knowledge with colleagues and develop, prepare and maintain engineering tools for future use Stimulate and contribute to the development, implementation and maintenance of the business processes within the section Requirements: Higher Professional Education or University Degree (Bachelor or higher) in Marine Engineering/Naval Architecture, Offshore Technology or Aerospace Engineering At least 7 years of relevant working experience, specific knowledge about offshore and ship hydrodynamics Broad experience with MATLAB, AQWA, Safetrans, WAMIT, MOSES, MCS Flexcom or equivalent Intercultural awareness Fluent in English (written and spoken) Cost-conscious/-minded Function specific competences/skills: Social and Communication Team membership Leadership Coaching Focused on results Judgement Persuasiveness Decisiveness We offer: Engaging international working environment in a modern working location Challenging position with corresponding responsibilities Excellent remuneration package including an EVA bonus Wide range of career opportunities, personal and professional growth
